Individual Therapy
Macaulay Psychology Group is a private billing clinic; a referral is not required to book an appointment with one of our psychologists. However, if you do have a referral, such as a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate or claim through your private health insurance.
The current Medicare rebate for sessions with a Clinical Psychologist is $149.05.
Our standard fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $260, which remains well below the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended fee of $330.
* Please note that after-hours appointments (before 9 am, after 5 pm, Saturdays, or public holidays) incur an additional $30 surcharge.
Medicare Rebates
If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and a referral from your GP, you may be eligible to receive Medicare rebates for sessions with one of our psychologists.
Rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, provided you hold a valid Medicare card.
- $149.05 per session with a Clinical Psychologist
- $101.55 per session with a Registered Psychologist
- Maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year under a MHCP
*If you’re unsure whether your sessions qualify for a rebate, we recommend speaking with your psychologist or contacting us directly. Your GP can also help determine the most suitable referral option for your circumstances.
